LASPA CHARGES OFFICERS TO BE PROACTIVE, DEDICATED TO DUTIES 


… Organises Maiden Sports, Fitness Programme for Staff 


The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has charged its management and staff to rededicate themselves towards improved service delivery and be proactive in carrying out the laudable mandate of the government in improving parking situations across the State.


Disclosing this at the maiden edition of the Y2023 LASPA Games Competition held at LASUCOM Field, Ikeja, the General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu stated that while the government has continued to provide various opportunities for staff to thrive through capacity building programmes, it also encourages recreational activities for all members of staff to improve their mental wellbeing.


“The administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken cognizance of the need to create an opportunity for workers to be involved in sporting adventures to have a healthy and balanced mind”, she added.


According to her, the fitness process will enable the staff to ease off stress from their busy schedules at work and promote a good lifestyle, noting that the sports competition will further foster the spirit of sportsmanship, as well as promote physical exercise among all officers with the Authority.


 Her words, “Let me also use this opportunity to appeal to you all to be committed, distinguish yourselves and be diligent in carrying out your official duties. This will further assist the government efforts in regulating and improving the parking system of the State, in the actualization of this administration’s Traffic Management and Transportation Agenda towards providing a suitable and systemized environment for motorists and residents”.


The General Manager emphasised that the Authority has continued to adopt various interventions towards finding lasting solutions to parking challenges across the State as it causes traffic gridlock and long drive time hours. 

In her remark, the Director Administration & Human Resources of the Agency, Mrs. Olajumoke Akinbo assured that all officers in the Authority will not relent in their commitment and dedication towards their respective duties and support the government in achieving its mandate through the T.H.E.M.E.S PLUS Agenda.


Highlights of the maiden LASPA competition featured various sporting games such as football, 100 metre race, sack race, egg race and tug of war among others for male and female categories respectively.


The Operations Department emerged champions of the football competition beating the Monitoring and Enforcement Department with a score of 2 goals to Nil. Mr. Bayode Olamide and Mrs. Ademuyiwa Bunmi of the Admin &HR Department clinched the first positions in the 100 metres, Male and Female Categories respectively while Mr. Ayokunle Akinrinimisi was overall best and winner of the 100 Metres (Management Category).


Mrs. Olatunde Betty of the ICT Unit and Mr. Shadeko Shola, Special Assistant to the General Manager were winners of the Sack Race Competition for Female and Male Categories respectively, while Mr. Olalere Ridwan of the Operations Department and Mrs. Folaju Feranmi of the Admin/HR won the Egg Race Competition in Male and Female Categories. 

The event which was spiced up with callisthenics displays from the Ladies of LASPA, also had dignitaries from sister agencies in attendance.
