… Rewards Outstanding Teaching, Non-Teaching Staff with Home Appliances
The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has organised a Merit Award ceremony for its outstanding teaching and non-teaching staff at the Board’s Multi-Purpose Hall, Maryland, Ikeja.
Speaking at the event, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, noted that the essence of the gathering was to recognise those who have served the State diligently and conscientiously in the past.
Okunola, represented by Mrs. Anike Adekanye, Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II, appreciated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the unwavering commitment to the motivation, welfare and well-being of employees. He commended the Board for her giant strides towards the development of basic education in the State.
The Head of Service congratulated the awardees and urged them not to rest on their oars but continue to exhibit a high sense of responsibility, commitment and unalloyed loyalty in the discharge of their duties.
Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, stated that the 66 awardees were selected based on pure merit after a thorough written and oral screening process.
“It is a day of the acronym R.A.C.E, we are here to Recognise, Appreciate, Commend and Encourage them to continue to do their best”, he said.
The awardees, drawn from the Headquarters, LGEAs and Primary Schools, include Lawson Margret – Best Headteacher; Owolewa Musiliu – Best Assistant Headteacher; Ogunbowale Olasunkanmi – Best Teacher and Abass Malik – Best Pupil amongst others.
The recipients went home with various home appliances such as Refrigerators, Smart TVs, Microwaves, Water dispensers etc.
