…Commiserates With Bereaved Families
The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. Lola Akande, today visited the School, LASUTH and Lagos State Emergency Centre where injured students of the Babs Fafunwa Millennium School, Ojodu, involved in a ghastly truck accident yesterday are presently receiving medical treatment.
A statement signed by the Commissioner and representative of Ikeja Federal Constituency in the Lagos State Executive Council said the visit was to commiserate with the bereaved parents and families of the deceased children.
She said: “I was deeply shocked and saddened to receive reports of the heart-wrenching loss of lives of our innocent children, occasioned by a truck accident at the Ojodu area on Tuesday. Nothing can prepare a parent for the loss of a child”.
“My deepest sympathy goes out to the families of these innocent children who were taken from us, all too soon. My thoughts and fervent prayers are with you in these difficult times. May God grant you peace, strength and comfort at this period. May we not have cause to mourn any of our children ever again”, Akande stated.
Mrs. Akande asserted that as a parent and representative of Ojodu Local Government in the State’s Executive Arm of Government, she feels a great sense of loss and prayed that the Almighty God heals the wounds and pains caused by the irreparable loss of the innocent school children.
The Commissioner also extended her heartfelt condolences to the residents and people of Ojodu and Lagos State in general, saying that the Almighty God will have mercy on the departed souls.
